Earlier this year, 4evergreen published updated protocols for assessing the recyclability of paper and board packaging, aiming to harmonize standards across the EU. This initiative aligns with the newly published Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) from February, which sets an ambitious target of 90% recycling rate by 2030.<\/p>\n

The new project is entitled \u201cValue creation from agrifood side streams within the circular bioeconomy\u201d (AgriFood). The ambition of the\u00a0AgriFood project<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>is to valorize agrifood side streams to high value-added and sustainable products.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>Sustainable protein and biogenic poly-\/oligomers production requires efficient use of available resources, such as agrifood side-streams (spent grain, agricultural harvest residues and side streams from potato industry).<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

RISE PFI is the first lab in Norway to offer the analysis for evaluation of the recyclability of paper and board products. The analysis follows the procedure for the harmonized recyclability analysis presented by CEPI (Confederation of European Paper Industries), which is based on the industrial processes where recycled products are recovered at a paper or board manufacturer. The purpose of the analysis is to assess the most important parameters for recyclability.<\/p>\n
