Running from June 2022 to October 2025, the project brought together multidisciplinary partners from across Europe to develop new biomaterials and microenvironments that support the differentiation of human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs) into retinal ganglion cells (RGCs). During the closing meeting, project milestones were reviewed, proof-of-concept prototypes were presented, and future pathways for translation and dissemination were discussed.<\/p>\n<p>RISE PFI contributed with expertise in biomaterial characterization and 3D bioprinting, with a particular focus on chitosan, its modification, and its interaction with retinal progenitor cells.
