RISE PFI’s research on enhancing biocomposites with nanocellulose, particularly for 3D printing and injection molding has been highlighted in the May issue of Compounding World.
Acetylated fibers and CNFs have been incorporated into high-density polyethylene (HDPE) biocomposites, resulting in significant strength enhancement. Mechanical testing shows an increase in strength from 19 MPa for neat HDPE to over 30 MPa for the biocomposites.
