New technology for improved control of the production of mechanical pulp from wood chips

In the SoftSens project we will apply a completely new technology consisting of temperature sensors and advanced computer models that will be used to control the production of mechanical pulp from wood chips. The new technology will make it possible to develop a whole new design for the refiner segment (the most important process unit in a mechanical pulp mill), as well as making it possible to control the production process far better than is possible today.
