The NxtBarr-project aims to develop fully biobased, recyclable, and biodegradable packaging materials to replace plastic, without compromising food safety or increasing waste.
On the 30th October we had the first project meeting since the project’s kick-off meeting. All research partners presented the progress in their work during the last half year. RISE PFI presented preliminary results of various barrier films and their properties. A summary of the requirements of different types of packaging for different food products was also presented. In addition, we got the opportunity to see the facilities at Moltzau Packaging and hear about some of their interesting projects.
