Our colleague Christian Sant Gjermestad will defend his PhD thesis: “Strategies for Arene-Selective Hydrodeoxygenation of Phenols” today April 24, at the University of Bergen.
His doctoral work is part of the research project “Renewable aromatic hydrocarbons from lignin by novel homogeneous catalysis,” funded by the Research Council of Norway. He has held a PhD research fellowship at the Department of Chemistry at the University of Bergen under the supervision of Vidar R. Jensen, Erwan Le Roux, and Giovanni Occhipinti.
